Tour Overview
On this 8-day tour, guests will experience southern Taiwan’s best cycling and scenery. The route is both challenging and rewarding, with a few hot spring hotels for pampering. Explore coastlines, climb mountains, discover indigenous tribes, and savor fresh local cuisine, all while enjoying the journey from the saddle.
This route takes riders through Taiwan’s diverse landscapes, from bustling cities to serene rice paddies. This journey features visits to Paiwan indigenous villages, vibrant night markets, and coastal rides with scenic views, ending with a rest day that features parts of Taroko Gorge and a celebratory lunch at Taiwan’s first craft brewery.

This tour is fully supported with a dedicated van for supplies, experienced cycling guides, and daily route files tailored to your pace. You’ll stay in comfortable accommodations, enjoy delicious meals, and have all the support needed for an epic ride.
This tour is suitable for riders with moderate experience as it features shorter distances and few elevation gains. Don’t sweat it though, we have van support and some optional route extensions for those wishing to push it a bit harder each day!!

Day By Day

Day 1: Kaohsiung - Fangliao (Tour Day)
Meet your guide in Kaohsiung before transferring by private van to Fangliao. Along the way, we’ll stop at Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, one of the wonders of Taiwan’s rich buddhist culture. After check-in, guests can explore, relax in the infinity pool, or join a shakedown ride. Staff will assist with bike setup. In the evening, we’ll have a Welcome Dinner and debrief.

Day 2: Fangliao - Kenting (57km / 62m)
After breakfast, we’ll ride south from our coastal hotel to the vibrant beach town of Kenting. Starting on flat roads, we’ll follow the coastline to Taiwan’s southern tip and arrive at Kenting National Park. Our ride ends beachside, followed by dinner and a visit to the lively night market.

Day 3: Kenting - Daren (75km / 1100m)
Today is challenging, but the stunning views are worth it. Starting in Kenting, guests will cycle coast to coast, navigating one of Taiwan’s most scenic routes. Route 199 offers curvy climbs, followed by a gentle descent to the coast. End the day in a quaint village with a group dinner.

Day 4: Daren - Zhiben (70km / 478m)
After a longer day, Day Four has a short morning ride along Taiwan’s stunning east coast. After a Paiwan community tour and lunch, ride to Zhiben, known for its hot springs and National Forest. Guests can relax before a group dinner.

Day 5: Zhiben - Chenggong (86km / 369m
Today is all about coastal riding! We’ll leave Zhiben, pass through Taitung, and reconnect with the coastal highway. with palm trees, white sand beaches, and Pacific views. After a visit to Sanxiantai Arch Bridge, we’ll ride to an oceanfront accommodation, then head to Chenggong for dinner.

Day 6: Chenggong - Yuli (50km / 576m)
Today features one of the bigger climbs, ending in the beautiful East Rift Valley, a cyclists' paradise. We’ll ride inland from the coast, over mountains, and into a green valley. After lunch, a short ride takes us to a historic hot spring hotel.

Day 7: Yuli - Hualien (102km / 394m)
The final riding day is our longest, with little elevation gain and a steady decline into Hualien City. We’ll ride through the scenic East Rift Valley, Taiwan’s Rice Basket before lunch in an ecological park. Afterward, we’ll ride into Hualien to our hotel and explore Dongdamen Night Market.

Day 8: Hualien - Taipei (Tour Day)
The final day won’t include riding but will be just as spectacular. After breakfast, we’ll head up the east coast by private van, exploring parts of Taroko Gorge, Changchun Shrine, and Bulouwun Terrace. We’ll visit cliff-side look outs, then end the tour with a group meal at Taiwan’s first craft brewery. (Based on the opening of Taroko National Park)
